Callaway Diablo Edge irons launched

Published:

Before designing the new Diablo Edge irons Callaway analysed how most amateurs hit the ball and found the impact position was significantly lower on the face to where the centre of gravity was located.

The result is a 50 per cent lower centre of gravity in the Diablo Edge irons and 17 per cent further back in the head. This has produced what Callaway say is their longest and most user-friendly game improver irons ever.

The low and deep centre of gravity in the stainless-steel heads enables golfers to hit the sweet spot more often and get the ball airborne with a minimum of fuss.

The large cavity-back design also distributes weight to the perimeter of the head for a higher MOI and more forgiveness. This means straighter shots and more targets hit.

The Diablo Edge irons can also be combined with hybrid clubs from as high as a six iron to ensure consistency of strike throughout the bag.

Neil Howie, president of Callaway Golf Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “The Diablo Edge irons represent a genuine breakthrough for amateur golfers seeking maximum performance without losing any of the forgiveness benefits of a game improvement club.”

Diablo Edge Irons are available in both men’s (steel and graphite shafts) and women’s (graphite only) models, 3-PW. Approach Wedge, Sand Wedge and Lob Wedge are additional options.

RRP £649 (graphite), £549 (steel)
