New Callaway Diablo Edge Driver

The new Diablo Edge driver is the longest, fastest and most forgiving driver Callaway have ever made, according to the company.

It is an update on the original Diablo driver but Callaway say it is a significant improvement.

The head is a four-piece structure comprising of the sole, crown, face and weight chip and made entirely of ultra-thin sheet titanium.

These four pieces are fused together to create the most weight-efficient driver in the company’s history for maximum MOI and forgiveness.

The face has also been designed to have a high COR across the entire surface thanks to Variable Face Thickness (VFT) Technology. This means the face has been chemically milled to ensure exact tolerances across the face. The result is a hotter face wherever you make contact with the ball.

The head has also been designed to reduce drag during the downswing and thus increase clubhead speed and ultimately, distance.

Dr Alan Hocknell, senior vice president of R&D at Callaway Golf, said: “Compared to last year’s Diablo this driver generates eight per cent less drag. Coupled with the advantage gained from using the ultra-thin sheet titanium, we’ve developed a driver built for speed and performance.”

The Diablo Edge driver is available in 9°, 10°, 11° and 13° lofts. It is also available in a draw verson. RRP £249
