Video review: Callaway X-Series Jaws wedge

Callaway’s new X-Series Jaws wedges not only have a cool name, they also feature something called Mack-Daddy grooves as named by Phil Mickelson.

Lefty nicknamed the new grooves after being impressed with the amount of spin they gave him during testing and although he will no longer be able to use them after January 1, 2010, amateur players can continue enjoying them until 2024 at the earliest.

The Jaws wedges are forged from carbon steel to enhance feel at impact and they also feature a C-grind sole which means steel has been ground down in a C-shape to allow the club to be opened up for a variety of different shots.

However, even though they look and sound great we can’t just take Callaway’s word for it so David Connor, TG equipment editor, and instruction editor Joel Tadman had them out on the range to deliver their verdict.

You can see what they thought in the video below.
