Cleveland CG7 Tour Black Pearl irons unveiled

Cleveland have launached a new Black Pearl version of their CG7 Tour irons, designed for the better player.

The new CG7 Black Pearl Tours are essentially an updated version of the current CG7 Tour, which has proven popular with low handicapper players looking for extreme playability but with a bit of forgiveness built in.

The Black Pearl finish is designed to reduce glare as well as improving the visual aspect of the club over the ball by making the head appear smaller and more workable.

It also features Cleveland’s 360 degree Gelback Technology – a revolutionary gel insert in the back of the head which enhances feel and dampens vibrations, particularly on off-centre hits.

The grooves in the club head and Cleveland’s unique ZIP grooves, which are milled to the R&A and USGA limit but still conforming to new regulations in place from January 2010.

The face has also been laser milled to leave a maximum surface roughness for the most spin possible, which will be particularly important in light of the new groove regulations.

The thin top line and narrow sole also makes the irons extremely playable and appealing to the better player.

They will retail at £575.
