Revealed: Wilson D-FY irons with steel and graphite shafts!

Published:

At Today’s Golfer we love bringing you a top scoop and it doesn’t come much better than revealing Wilson’s new D-FY irons – the first irons in the world with a half steel, half graphite shaft!

You might be thinking that this is nothing more than a marketing gimmick but Wilson say there’s a good reason for this unusual design.

The steel part of the shaft retains the feel and response at impact that regular steel-shaft players love while the graphite portion removes weight from the club, allowing you to swing it faster – essentially getting the best of both worlds.

These clubs definitely won’t suit the better player, but if you’re a game-improver these D-FY irons will certainly help you do that.

In terms of set make-up, the D-FY irons have hybrids replacing the traditional longer irons, wide-soled irons in the 5 and 6 while the 7-PW are cavity-backed clubs – all of which are aimed at making forgiveness the name of the game!

INFORMATION: The Wilson D-FY irons are available from January and will retail at £549.99. For more details please visit www.wilstonstaff.com
