WHAT GEAR REVOLUTION – GOING LIVE!

In association with

It was a hot, sunny day just after the Open Championship last year. And the Equipment Team were ordered into a meeting with TG Editor-in-chief Andy Calton to discuss What Gear 2010.

“We need something different, radical and better for next year’s supplement,” challenged the boss.

“We need to find a way of getting all of the good stuff, like listings and essential information, into the What Gear brand – but we also need it to be more useful for the TG readers.”

So, after lots of meetings, discussions, disagreements and tears, we’ve come up with the brand new What Gear 2010. And in the words of one manufacturer, “it’s better than ever”.

At the heart of the product are the listings where every manufacturer has supplied details of their clubs for 2010 – but although this “bread and butter” is important, we realised that it might not be as useful for consumers as it could be. We wanted it to work harder.

So we’ve put all of these listings online. This means that you can logon on to our website and check out any product from any manufacturer – and when they bring out more gear throughout the year, these newbies will be added to the database. So you’re always up-to-date with the latest launches.

And we’ve teamed up with OnlineGolf to give you some great prices on some of the top gear!

But what we are really excited about is the What Gear supplement that comes FREE with Issue 267 of Today’s Golfer, which is on sale on Thursday, February 25.

We’ve broken the 84-page supplement down into sections – drivers, fairways, hybrids, irons, wedges, putters, balls, shoes, bags, trolleys, waterproofs, grips, spikes, gloves and rangefinders!

In each section we’ve got a showcase of products that we think will be big news this year and in lots of sections we’ve also got some essential buying advice to help you make a more-informed choice before parting with your hard-earned cash.

We’ve also worked closely with the biggest manufacturers such as Nike, TaylorMade, Callaway, Titleist, Cobra, Cleveland and loads more to bring you a real insider’s view of their equipment – how it works, why it works and what clubs tailored to your game can do to improve scoring. One of TG’s all-time favourite mantras.

We are extremely proud of the new-look product and we hope you like it too. We are always keen to hear your opinions on anything we do, so feel free to email with all your suggestions.

Enjoy Issue 267 and What Gear 2010!
