Video review: Nike SQ Machspeed driver

With Nike’s new SQ Machspeed driver they’ve certainly brought out something that’s going to turn heads and get tongues wagging.

The Machspeed is the only new square-headed driver newly developed for 2010 but it features slightly rounded edges to give it a more appealing look while taking nothing away from the performance benefits of the square head.

It is also designed with what Nike called Total Swing Aerodynamics, which means it produces less drag throughout the entire swing so the clubhead travels faster, resulting in more ball speed and longer distances.

Aimed at a mid-high handicapper, Nike say this is the most forgiving driver they have ever produced.

To test this out David Connor, TG equipment editor and instruction editor Joel Tadman took it out to the range. Watch the video below for the results.

In the current issue of Today’s Golfer magazine (February issue) we also test the Machspeed driver against last year’s Nike Dymo to see just how much more forgiving it is.
