Video review: Nike SQ Machspeed fairway woods

There’s no doubt some golfers would immediately turn their nose up at the new Nike SQ Machspeed fairway woods because of their square appearance – but would they be doing a disservice to their own game?

Nike say the square shape allows more weight to be positioned in the perimeters of the club for increased forgiveness while their designers have also worked hard to round off the edges to make it more appealing to the eye.

In addition, like the entire new Machspeed range, it is designed with Total Swing Aerodynamics which means it produces less drag throughout the swing for a faster clubhead speed and ultimately more distance.

So, if you can get your head round the slightly square shape, the Machspeed fairway woods sound like a great option.

To help make your mind up David Connor, TG Equipment Editor, and Features Writer Kit Alexander have had the Machspeed out on the range to try it out. You can see what they think in the video below.
