Video review: Nike Victory Red Split Cavity Irons

There are a host of better players out there nowadays who look for the penetrating trajectory and workability offered by bladed irons but with some forgiveness built in – and Nike’s VR Split Cavity irons are designed to offer both.

They feature a shallow cavity in the rear of the club, which spreads weight more around the perimeter of the head for added forgiveness but the profile looks as compact as any bladed club on the market.

This means the VR Split Cavities are suitable for even the best players in the world, including Paul Casey, who uses these in his longer irons for added forgiveness.

Unfortunately we couldn’t get a hold of two of the best players in the world so we had to settle for TG’s Gear duo Jonathan Greathead and David Connor and they took the VR Split Cavities to the range to test them out.

You can see how they got on in the video below and you can also find out more about all the irons in Nike’s Victory Red range by visiting our exclusive What Gear 2010 section in association with online golf.
