Rarely has a new putter in a golfers’ bag caused so many headlines but Tiger Woods’ decision to switch to the Nike Method, as featured in our exclusive What Gear 2010 section in association with online golf, has been worldwide news.
In fairness, the Nike Method putter already has a proven track record in Major Championships with two wins to its name already in the hands of Lucas Glover and Stewart Cink.
But Tiger’s trusty Scotty Cameron has served him well, bagging 12 of his 13 Major titles to date. The reason he has switched to the Method is, according to the world number one, because it delievers a faster ball speed off the face and this will help him on the slower greens at St Andrews.
