Ping bosses hit the fairways and the hills for charity

Ping Europe bosses have raised more than £18,000 after completing a remarkable 44-mile trek over some of England’s highest peaks – with golf bags strapped to their backs.

The 19-strong team set off at 4.50am by playing 18 holes at Eskdale Golf Club before tackling 44 miles over two days culminating in a charity golf tournament at the picturesque Keswick Golf Club.

En-route they scaled over 10,000 feet of climbing via Scafell Pike (the highest point in England) and Helvellyn (3rd highest point in England) as well as 20 other recognised peaks.

After walking for over 26 hours with only 3 hours sleep the triumphant party were met at Keswick Golf Club where they handed over a cheque for more than £18,000 for the Lake District Search and Mountain Rescue Association.

John Clark, Managing Director, PING Europe said, “This was undoubtedly the hardest physical challenge that any of us have ever undertaken. We are hugely proud of the amount of money that has been raised for this worthy cause and we would like to thank all of our supporters who helped us achieve our goal.”
