Alvaro Quiros’ winning Callaway clubs

Big-hitting Spaniard Alvaro Quiros sealed the fourth European Tour victory of his career and his first in his home country’s open with a display of power and precision.

Quiros could probably swing a sponge on the end of a stick and still fire the ball 300 yards down tha fairway but he fared even better with a bag full of Callaway equipment to lift the Spanish Open title.

He said: “I think it’s one of the most important things in my life for sure. To be the winner of your Open is something really, really great. The most important thing for me was clearly my Callaway driver.  I was hitting all the fairways, even on the 18th playoff hole.  It was what made it for me.”

In Quiros’ winning bag was:

Driver: Callaway FT-5 Driver (a predecessor to the FT Tour, new for 2010)
Fairway wood: Callaway Tour X 15 degree
Irons: Callaway X-Prototype
Wedges: Callaway Vintage X-Forged (52, 58 and 60)
Putter: Odyssey Black Series i #1
Ball: Callaway Tour i(z)
