Direct Golf UK to open four new stores

Direct Golf UK have announced plans to open four new stores, taking the total number to 17 across the UK.

The retailer will open stores in Peterborough, Milton Keynes, Farnborough and Reading in the coming months as it looks to expand its high-street retail business further.

The first of the four new stores to open will be in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, with a grand opening weekend on December 4 and 5, 2010. The weekend will see opening offers, special discounts and free giveaways to visitors.

The 5,000 sq foot high-street store will boast a Vector launch monitor giving golfers the ability to demo all the latest equipment from all the leading brands on-site and benefit from Direct Golf’s full custom-fitting service offered by its PGA Professional staff.

Speaking ahead of the Peterborough store opening, Neil Bell, managing director for Direct Golf UK, commented: “We are delighted to secure the Peterborough site as part of our wider expansion plans. Our focus over the last few years has been on profit, but following the best years in our 19-year history, our focus is now firmly on expanding our retail portfolio.”

The store will feature PGA qualified staff,  a large indoor putting green, bespoke clothing shop-in-shop and specialist ladies and junior areas.

The other three stores will open in consecutive months from January.
