Harrington trials new Wilson Staff gear

Wilson Staff player Padraig Harrington has been trialling some of the manufacturer’s new equipment for 2011 ahead of the Dubai World Championship.

The Irishman was spotted on the range putting Wilson’s new DXi driver and Vizor putter through their paces as he warmed up for the season-ending event.

Harrington has long been an ambassador for Wilson Staff and has used his Wilson FG Tour irons, wedges and FYbrid clubs to great effect in recent years.

We brought you news of the he new DXi driver in issue 276 of Today’s Golfer magazine and it is designed to combat ballooning spin rates often seen in modern drivers in order to maximise distance. As the the loft on the driver increases, Wilson have also added more weight to the sole of the club to move the centre of gravity further back and increase the launch angle.

We’ll also have more information on the Vizor putter in an upcoming issue of Today’s Golfer magazine, on sale December 28.
