Manassero relies on Titleist for Tour victory

Matteo Manassero used Titleist’s new 910 driver and fairway wood on his way to victory at the Malaysian Open at the weekend.

The Italian starlet claimed the title just two days short of his 18th birthday, holding off the challenge of Frenchman Gregory Bourdy to win by a single stroke, with fellow Titleist staffer Rory McIlroy back in third spot.

In addition to the new driver and fairway wood, Manassero also used Titleist’s 909H hybrid, AP2 irons, Vokey wedges and a Scotty Cameron Studio Select Fastback putter as he finished with a four-round total of 16-under-par.

Titleist also dominated the ball count at the event, with 96 players in the field using either Titleist’s Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball.

Manassero’s victory has propelled him to a career-high position of 33 in the world rankings, and in the process he became the first golfer to win two European Tour titles before his 18th birthday.
