Bjorn powers to victory with Callaway and ECCO

Thomas Bjorn won for the second time in 2011 after clinching victory at the Johnnie Walker Championship, following a dramatic five-way play-off at Gleneagles.

The Dane, who won earlier in the season in Qatar, used a plethora of Callaway equipment as well as ECCO’s World Class GTX golf shoes on his way to a 12th European Tour title.

Bjorn was using Callaway’s new RAZR Hawk driver, a Diablo Octane Tour fairway wood as well as a Heavenwood hybrid and a Diablo Edge Tour hybrid.

The 40-year-old, who finished in the top-15 in the field in driving distance, GIR, putts per GIR and putts per round, also used Callaway’s X-Prototype irons, X-Forged wedges and a Tour i (z) ball.

His exceptional putting all week came about using Odyssey’s Black Series iX#1 putter.

England’s Mark Foster had a one-shot lead going up the par-5 72nd hole, but a bogey-six forced the play-off with Bjorn, Pablo Larrazbal, Bernd Wiesberger and George Coetzee.

But it was Bjorn who prevailed, seeing off the quartet who had finished alongside him with a four-round total of 11-under-par.
