Best of 2011: Fairway Woods

A good fairway wood is a key part of any golf bag. They should be almost as long as a driver off the tee and as easy to hit as a hybrid off the deck.

In 2011 we’ve seen a raft of excellent fairway woods hitting the market including the Ping G20, TaylorMade R11, Callaway Razr Hawk, Cobra S3 and Cleveland FL Launcher.

Each one of these gives you the distance of an old driver but with a higher ball flight and much more forgiveness.

There’s tough competition out there but TG’s gear team Jonathan Greathead and David Connor haven’t shirked their responsibilities and have both declared their favourite fairway wood of 2011. To find out which ones made the grade watch the video below.
