Best of 2011: Putters

The short stick may be the most important in your bag and it is also likely to be the most personal. It doesn’t matter if it costs £3 or £300, if it helps you hole more putts then it’s a winner.

But the choice out there is vast – from sleek blade putters to large-headed mallets and everything in between. And then you’ve got face material and texture to consider – insert or no insert, grooves or no grooves?

Tour pros aren’t any real gauge when it comes to putters either with all manner and shapes used on Tour from TaylorMade’s huge Rossa Monza Spider toPing’s Anser model all proving popular with the world’s best players.

So in this minefield of equipment we asked TG’s gear team Jonathan Greathead and David Connor to name their favourite putters of 2011. Should be pretty easy…
