New ECCO shoes set to make waves in Britain

Danish shoemakers ECCO have never been afraid to put out cutting edge designs, but their new Biom Hybrid shoe will have even the most forward-thinking golfer impressed by the latest innovation.

These new shoes have been designed without traditional cleats or spikes, but instead feature 100 moulded traction bars on the sole which gives golfers the grip they need throughout all stages of the swing.

The lack of spikes mean the shoes are not only suitable for the golf course, but can also be used off it too, which make them hugely versatile.

The Biom Hybrid shoes build on two previous products from ECCO – the Street shoe, which first shot to prominence during the 2009 Masters at Augusta when American Fred Couples used them to brilliant effect, and last year’s Biom model.

The Biom Hybrid takes the superb comfort from the Street shoe and combines it with the “low to the ground” technology that featured in the Biom.

By moving the golfer closer to the ground, the new shoes offer more stability and a greater power transfer.

The new shoes feature heavily in the next issue of TG, which goes on sale on December 29. Check it out for more details.
