Cobra S3 irons launched

The new Cobra S3 irons are the latest iron from Cobra to enter the extremely competitive game-improvement category.

The S3 irons are designed for a solid game-improvement or mid-handicap player who wants a club with plenty of forgiveness but not at the expense of sleek, aspirational looks.

The irons feature what Cobra call E9 face technology which, similar to the technology in the Cobra S3 driver, creates a larger sweet zone.

In the longer irons the cavity is more of an elliptical shape to move forgiveness out towards the heel and the toe in the traditional harder-to-hit clubs.

As the irons decrease in length the cavity becomes more circular in shape to improve feel and control as you approach the green.

For a more detailed review the Cobra S3 irons will feature in our comprehensive 2011 irons test later this year.
