ECCO launch new Biom shoe

After another highly-successful year in 2010, ECCO have unveiled their new BIOM shoe for the new campaign.

The BIOM, which will be worn by US Open champion Graeme McDowell, is a ground-breaking product that follows the foot’s natural system for absorbing impact. This means the golfer is more stable at impact which ensures better balance during all phases of the swing.

The shoe itself benefits from an ultra-lightweight construction that is 100g lighter than other performance shoes on the market, while the low profile design brings the golfer’s weight closer to the playing surface which helps to deliver more power through the swing.

The BIOM is also made from Tibetan Yak leather that ECCO say is three times stronger than conventional leathers. The material may produce a soft feel, but it’s also highly durable too.

We’ve got the full story inside the new and improved What Gear 2011 which comes out with Issue 280 on February 24. We’ve also spoken to Dieter Kasprzak, CEO of the Danish giant.

INFORMATION: The new BIOM shoes, which will be available to buy from the start of March, will retail at £180 for men and £160 for women. For further details, please visit www.ecco.com/golf
