New Callaway Razr X Tour irons launched

Callaway’s new Razr X Tour irons are about to hit the shops and judging by these pictures they’ll be a hit.

The irons are designed for low to mid handicappers looking for a blend between playability and workability. The compact head profile will appear to better players but the head size belies the technology packed into each club.

The Razr Technology present in the Razr X game-improvement irons is still evident here with more weight added to the rear of the club for a slightly higher launch but the rear of the sole is beveled so it still plays like a better-player thin-sole iron.

The undercity cavity is not as large as in the game improvement iron but it still exists to move weight to the perimeter for more forgiveness and to allow Callaway engineers to precisely place the CG in each iron and to maximise ball speed across more of the face.

In Callaway tests the Razr X Tour irons have proven longer and up to 26 per cent more accurate than their predecessor, the X22 Tour irons.

The set will retail for £699.
