New Wilson Vizor putter tackles alignment problems

Wilson Golf have unveiled their latest putter creation – the Vizor.
It features what Wilson have dubbed I-Lock technology which is designed to offer more consistency on the greens thanks to better alignment.
The Vizor works using a cantilever alignment system which ensures the golfer’s eyes are positioned directly over the target line for the stroke – helping them to aim more consistently.
Wilson say poor eye alignment is a major reason for a poor putting stroke, often resulting in pushed or pulled putts on the green. When the eyes are positioned to the inside of the target line, there’s a tendency to stroke excessively from in-to-out and push the ball; and conversely, to stroke from out-to-in and pull putts when the eyes are positioned outside the target line.
Players are made aware of the correct address position when the red bars, which feature on the toe and heel side of the Vizor’s alignment, can no longer be seen when standing over the ball.
When Wilson tested it against other competitive players’ putters, they say the Vizor returned a 20per cent increase in consistency in both eye alignment and correct putting direction.
“The Vizor putter will give players the confidence to be aggressive with their putts because they will see feedback on any misalignment immediately,” said Bob Thurman, global director of R&D, Wilson Golf.
The Vizor features an aluminium body for added feel and a soft urethane face insert, tailored to match the hardness of the modern golf ball, for increased touch and confidence. A stainless steel periphery gives players high MOI and extra stability, while the double bend shaft allows a face-balanced design.
The Vizor putter is available in 34-inch standard length, with custom options also available. RRP £119
