Watson trusts PING for maiden 2011 triumph

Bubba Watson used his PING equipment to great effect on Sunday as he birdied the 18th to claim victory at the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego.

The American, known for his explosive driving distance, was at his powerful best as he led the field in distance off the tee with an impressive average of 316.6 yards, with the PING G15 driver doing the damage.

But Watson’s 16-under-par winning total was obviously not just down to beefy hitting from the tee-box. He also led the greens-in-regulation statistic with his S59 irons, finding 81.9% of the greens over the four-day event at Torrey Pines.

Watson was also on good form with his PING Redwood Anser putter as he birdied all three of the par-5s on the final day as he signed for a 67.

In addition to the clubs mentioned, Watson also used a G15 4-wood and Tour-W wedges.
