Nick Watney in the bag: Winning Doral clubs

Published:

Nick Watney settled any lingering doubts over his ability to close out a top tournament with a terrific five-under-par final round to win the WGC Cadillac Championship by two shots.

The American sealed his first victory since blowing a three-shot lead at the USPGA Championship last year and showed great nerve by bouncing back from a dropped shot at the 12th hole with a birdie at 13.

The Titleist man finished on -16 for the tournament, two shots ahead of compatriot Dustin Johnson, using a bag ful of Titleist clubs.

And for amateur golfers out there desperate to play bladed irons, Watney actually used a set of Titleist AP2 irons to get the job done – showing that even top Tour pros are opting for more forgiveness in their irons these days.

Here are the clubs in Watney’s bag:

DRIVER: Titleist 910D3 (10.5°)
FAIRWAY WOOD: Titleist 910F (15°)
HYBRID: Titleist 910H (21°)
IRONS: Titleist AP2 (3-PW)
WEDGES: Titleist Vokey Design Spin Milled (54°), Titleist Vokey Tour Design (60°)
PUTTER: Scotty Cameron for Titleist Newport
BALL: Titleist Pro V1x
