Toms returns to the podium with Cleveland

Published:

David Toms returned to winning ways at the Crowne Plaza Invitational, and had a good array of Cleveland equipment in the bag.

The American last tasted victory over five years ago, but he recovered from a hideous third-round to see off the challenge of Charlie Wi on Sunday.

One of the highlights of Toms’ final round was a stunning holed wedge shot to the par-5 11th, giving him an eagle and the lead.

He finished on 15-under-par at Colonial, a shot clear of Wi. It was a 13th title in a career that has also included the US PGA Championship back in 2001.

Toms used a Cleveland CG16 wedge to fire that approach to the 11th, and he also used the brand’s impressive Launcher DST driver, fairway wood and hybrid.

Toms used the stunning CG7 Tour irons, and a Never Compromise Dinero Tycoon putter. He also put the Titleist Pro V1 into play too.
