Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano in the bag: Barclays Singapore Open

Spaniard Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano has sealed the first worlwide win new Cleveland 588 Forged wedge since being relaunched last month.

Fernandez-Castano, who moved from 80th to 15th in the Race to Dubai following his victory at the Barclays Singapore Open, is one of a host of Tour players who have put the Cleveland 588 Forged wedges straight in the bag after the iconic shape was redeveloped as a forged wedge.

He triumphed in a play-off over Juvic Pagunsan to record his 5th European Tour victory and mark a return to form after he was almost forced to quit the game six months ago due to injury.

“This is a great way to end the year for Cleveland Golf/Srixon,” said Leslie Hepsworth, President of Srixon Sports Europe.  “A win in an event of this size by one of our players is testament to hard work that goes in to getting our products to perform at the very highest level. Gonzalo was one of the first players to put the new CG 588 wedges in his bag and it looks to have paid dividends.”
