Callaway RAZR XF iron launched

Published:

Callaway have just announced the launch of their new Razr XF iron – their first forged iron aimed at higher handicappers.

The company say that for years game improvers have had to compromise feel in their quest for more forgiveness in the irons but they believe that by forging the body and frame from 1025 carbon steel and attaching a steel face they are able to offer the best of both worlds.

The result is an iron which has the highest MOI (resistance to twisting) of any in Callaway’s history while still retaining a high degree of feel and feedback at impact.

The irons also feature a multi-material medallion in the back of the head to aid feedback and dampen unwanted vibrations from mishits.

They come with a sleek looking black PVD finish to make the heads look slightly more compact and reduce glare in bright sunlight but thet still retain the traditional confidence-building features of generous offset and an extremely wide sole design.

Because of the high levels of technology and the premium materials involved the irons do carry a higher price tag of £1,149 in steel and £1,299 in graphite but Callaway believe there are many higher handicappers who still want to play a premium product.
