Steely-eyed TaylorMade staffer Rose holds nerve to win in Chicago

TaylorMade Tour star Justin Rose kept his composure to win the biggest title of his career to date, with victory at the BMW Championship in Chicago.

Australian John Senden looked like he might have enough to edge past Rose, reducing a five-shot gap to just one before the Englishman chipped in on the 17th at Cog Hill to go two clear again.

Rose’s touch on the 17th was exquisite, but his flawless approach to the 72nd hole (he was using TaylorMade Tour Preferred MB irons) was just as important.

A solid two-putt with the iconic Corza Ghost mallet putter followed, forcing Senden to settle for second spot, a result which propels him into 9th position in the overall FedEx Cup standings.

Rose’s win not only nets him $1.44m, but also a spot in this week’s Tour Championship in Atlanta and a shot at the $10m FedEx Cup winner’s cheque.

As well as the MB irons and Corza Ghost putter, the 31-year-old was also using TaylorMade’s R11 driver, R9 fairway wood and a TPxFT wedge.

Like the vast majority of TaylorMade players, Rose was also using the Penta TP ball, the world’s first five-piece golf ball.
