ProQuip set to continue Ryder Cup tradition at Gleneagles in 2014

ProQuip will continue to be the preferred weatherwear supplier to the European Ryder Cup when the tournament returns to the continent in two years time.

When the two teams line up at Gleneagles in 2014, it will be the 20th time ProQuip has supplied the Europeans with protection against the elements.

“ProQuip is synonymous with the Ryder Cup, beoming famous for ultra-lightweight rain suits worn by the world’s best players,” said Russell Brooks, the brand’s General Manager.

“The company really did revolutionise golf weatherwear, especially with the award-winning Ultralite range in the early 1990s, leading the market with significantly lighter, softer and easier-to-swing-in waterproofs than were commonly available at the time,” he added.

In addition to supplying kit for 12 European teams in the past, ProQuip has also six American teams, including Jack Nicklaus’s 1983 side in Florida.

This year’s Ryder Cup is being held at Medinah Country Club, and runs from September 25-30.
