Titleist powers McIlroy to USPGA victory

Rory McIlroy romped to an emphatic victory at the US PGA Championship, doing so with a wide range of Titleist equipment.

The Northern Irishman tamed Kiawah Island on Sunday as the likes of Justin Rose, Ian Poulter and former world number one Tiger Woods failed to overturn his overnight lead.

McIlroy trusted Titleist’s 913D3 driver, as well as the 712MB irons. He used three Vokey Design wedges and recorded his 13-under-par four-round total with the help of a Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport GSS prototype putter.

The 23-year-old, who shot a stunning final round 66 in South Carolina, also used Titleist’s Pro V1x golf ball.

McIlroy finished eight shots ahead of his nearest rival David Lynn. with defending champion Keegan Bradley, Rose, Poulter and Carl Pettersson a shot further back on four-under.

The victory was McIlroy’s second Major title after he won the US Open in 2011.
