TaylorMade R11s debuts as No1 model in play in Qatar

In the week that the TaylorMade R11S driver makes its official debut on the European Tour, it has gone straight to being the number one driver driver in play at the Qatar Masters.

The R11S has been well received by TaylorMade’s army of Tour pros with 24 in the bags of the players competing in Doha.

In addition the RBZ Tour fairway was the most used fairway model, the Rescue 11 TP the No.1 Rescue model and the Tour Preferred MC irons the No.1 iron model to round off a successful start to 2012 for TaylorMade.

Sergio Garcia tested the R11S with the TaylorMade Tour team at the beginning of the week and gained one mph increased ball speed, with less spin, and an average increased carry of seven yards. Paul McGinley saw an increase in five mph ball speed and after changing the FCT to lower he found the ball flight he was looking for, which transpired into a massive increase of 18 yards of carry.

Ian Watts, director of sports marketing for TaylorMade-adidas Golf Europe, said:”Once we put the R11S in their hands and the players gained an average increased ball speed of four mph and increased distance off the tee, they were happy to switch straight away.”
