Callaway Hex Black Tour golf ball: video interview

When it comes to golf balls Callaway say the key is about spin separation – low spin off the tee and high spin round the greens and the new Hex Black Tour, according to the company, offers the biggest difference of any ball they’ve ever produced.

The ball is Callaway’s first five-piece golf ball construction and has been designed to offer more greenside feel and spin than the Tour i(s) and more driver distance than the Tour i(z), hence why it is replacing both balls in the range for 2012.

But the story doesn’t end there, Callaway have introduced a brand new proprietary thermoplastic urethane cover, which is extremely thin and has been around four years in development.

To find out more TG’s equipment editor David Connor spoke to Steve Ogg, Callaway’s vice president of Golf Ball Design. Watch the video below for more details.
