Webster extends deal with Wilson Staff

Two-time European Tour winner Steve Webster has extended his deal with Wilson Staff, and will use the brand’s FG Tour irons.

In addition to his two Tour titles at the Italia Open (2005) and the Portugal Masters (2007), the 36-year-old was also the man who beat Tiger Woods to the Silver Medal at the 1995 Open Championship at St Andrews.

“We are delighted to have another top quality player in Steve committing to Wilson Staff at a time when the brand’s presence on Tour is growing stronger,” said Doug Wright, Business Director for Europe at Wilson Golf.

Webster has resisted the temptation to switch into the new FG Tour V2 irons, and clearly has huge confidence in the orginal better player irons.

“The distance control on the irons is amazingly consistent and I have lots of feel off the clubface for shotmaking,” the Nuneaton star said.
