McIlroy puts new Titleist 913 D3 driver in the bag

Published:

Rory McIlroy is one of a number of Titleist players to have put the new 913 driver straight in the bag following its release to Tour players last week.

The Northern Irishman switched straight into the Titleist 913 D3 at Portrush as he attempted to win the Irish Open on home soil while other European-based players are expected to switch at this week’s French Open.

McIlroy used an 8.5 degree 913 D3, which includes the SureFit adjustable hosel that was introduced in its predecessor the 910.

In the US a total of 14 players made the switch immediately at the AT&T national with Bud Cauley, Tom Gillis and John Merrick all switching to the prototype 913 D2 driver.

Seung-yul Noh, Nick Watney, Brendon de Jonge, Mark Anderson, Ben Curtis, Martin Flores, Hunter Haas, K.T. Kim, Tom Pernice Jr., D.J. Trahan and Gary Woodland all joined McIlroy in putting the 913 D3 into play.

We’ll have more detail on the new Titleist 913 drivers in an upcoming issue.
