TaylorMade-adidas Golf acquire Adams Golf

Leading American brand Adams Golf has been bought by TaylorMade-adidas Golf in a £46m deal.

The acquisition to bring two of the biggest names in golf club manufacture was finalised today after the announcement of an initial agreement back in March.

It means that the brand, which also owns Yes! putters, will join TaylorMade, adidas and Ashworth under the TMaG banner but will continue to operate as Adams Golf.

The focus will now be on promoting the Adams brand worldwide after significant success in the US thanks to its burgeoning reputation on Tour, particularly in the hybrids market.

“We’ve long admired Adams Golf’s enthusiasm for incorporating performance technologies into its equipment, just as TaylorMade-adidas Golf does,” commented Mark King, President and CEO of TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company. “Uniting the talents of the TaylorMade-adidas Golf and Adams Golf research and development departments will help us develop even better equipment for the target consumers of both brands.”
