COBRA-PUMA helps Fowler to first PGA Tour victory

Rickie Fowler recorded his first win on the PGA Tour after seeing off the challenge of Rory McIlroy and DA Points in a play-off at the Wells Fargo Championship in North Carolina.

The trio finished tied on 14-under-par after 72 holes, but it took just one more trip down the 18th for Fowler to record his maiden victory in what was his 67th start as a professional.

The American fired a wedge from 133 yards to within four feet and holed the putt to ensure victory over his rivals who could only muster pars.

Before Fowler’s impressive three, the 18th had only given up four birdies throughout the day at the Quail Hollow Club.

Although McIlroy couldn’t celebrate another victory this time out, he did have the consolation of returning to the the top of the world rankings.

Fowler, dressed in his customary bright orange on the final day, was using Cobra’s similarly-styled AMP driver, as well as new AMP Pro Prototype irons.

Another impressive performance on Sunday came from Lee Westwood, who carded the round of the day with a 66 ahead of this week’s Players Championship at glorious Sawgrass.
