Titleist In Seventh Heaven

Swede Jonas Blixt claimed his maiden PGA Tour title in a week that ended with seven tour wins for the Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls.

Blixt followed his third place finish at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open last week with his first PGA Tour victory at the Frys.com Open, thanks to a final round three-under par 68.

Elsewhere, wins were landed by Shawn Stefani (Web.com Tour), Kenuchi Kuboya (Japan Golf Tour), Gaganjeet Bhullar (Asia Tour), Lian Wenchong (OneAsia Tour) and Peter Wilson (PGA Tour of Australasia).

These victories take Titleist’s 2012 worldwide golf ball win count to 156, compared to 18 for the nearest competitor.

The Frys.com Open marked the second week of seeding for the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x prototype golf balls on the PGA Tour, following it first being available for play in Las Vegas last week. Last week 18 players put the new prototype golf balls into play, while a total of 21 players made the decision this week in California.
