Billy Horschel In The Bag: Zurich Classic Winning Clubs

Billy Horschel charged to a maiden PGA Tour victory as an eight-under-par 64 gave him a one-stroke win over DA Points at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

The 26-year-old American cooly brushed off a final hole storm delay to make a huge birdie putt – his ninth of the round – to take him to 20-under-par and a one shot win.

“I hadn’t made a long one all week,” said Horschel. “I said, ‘I’m due for a long one’. It came off the putter so good. I’m so happy to win it. This win means a lot.”

In a final round that included a three-hour delay, overnight leader Lucas Glover had remained a shot ahead of the rest, but upon returning he was blown away by Horschel and Points, with Kyle Stanley also nipping ahead of him.

Europe’s challenge was led by Nicolas Colsaerts at 13-under, one ahead of Justin Rose, who was carded a final-round 69.

Chinese 14-year-old Guan Tianlang, shot a second straight 74 to finish last among those who made the cut on four-over-par.
