Spotted: Ping S55 irons

The PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup playoffs begin this week at The Barclays and a few Ping staff players have been spotted trying out some new irons.
The S55 irons are set to build on the success of the S56, Ping’s only current true better player irons, which have been in the range for over four years.
Players reported to be testing the new model include Hunter Mahan and Bubba Watson. Over in Europe, the S55 irons have been tested by Gregory Havret, Andy Sullivan and Brandon Stone with all three players putting them straight in the bag for the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles.
Reports suggest the S55 will be slightly smaller than its predeccessor, have slightly stronger lofts and use a different insert that offers a marginally softer feel.
