VPAR launches exciting new App

EVER wondered what it’s like to play the final hole knowing you have a lead, or perhaps need a birdie to seal victory, so that you can perform accordingly?

Well thanks to the newly developed and improved VPAR App, you can bring a live and real-time leaderboard to your golf, stoking up the tension, excitement and competitiveness as you play.

Using VPAR’s interactive, game-changing technology, the new App ensures you can capture all the adrenaline of the game on easy-to-use handheld scorepads – and now it is available on your iPhone too.

VPAR’s origins go back to 2009 and over the subsequent four years, having gained financial support and investment to improve its technology and range of features – it also acts to provide GPS rangefinder, an integrated scorecard, plus a digital course guide and yardage book – really is cutting edge class.

That’s why Managing Director Jason Stoop and VPAR officially launched their new VPAR App at Stoke Park on July 31 – staging a VPAR Cup Challenge for five teams to battle for in a best two from four scores to count format.

And having played in the day for TG’s team, which also included Sky Sports News Pete Graves, Jason Stoop and VPAR genius designer Tom Mason, the brains behind the APP and its technology, we know first-hand how good the VPAR App is.

“It really makes for a fun, exciting and competitive format that creates a brilliant day on the course. The ebb and flow of the live scoring – who is leading, how you’re doing, what happens when you have a bad hole and fall behind, what sort of score you need to post – all comes into it as you’re playing,” said Pete Graves.

“Fortunately, we only had one bad hole and could rally to record a -15 total to win by two shots, with our Team Captain Graeme playing superb golf to shoot a four under par 67 to win the solo prize and earn £500 for charity.”

It was split between breast cancer awareness charity CoppaFeel!, Vipingo Village in Kenya and Macmillan Cancer.

But another great feature is with VPAR everyone can enjoy the action live online – from colleagues back in the office to family at home, or friends watching the interactive screens in the clubhouse.

Throughout the day, various people could see how you were doing, give some banter or needle you, as well as congregate around the final hole to see if the chasing team featuring ITV’s Zoe Hardman, could reach -15. They couldn’t quite do it, ending on -13 but playing a fine 18 holes.

It all adds up to making VPAR the most exciting and powerful way to get inside the game.

You can currently download the VPAR App for free – in the future it will be priced at £4.99 – on the App Store: http://bit.ly/VPARiPhone

And if you don’t have an iPhone, don’t despair, the android app is coming soon!
