Titleist again number one choice of ball at The Open

Titleist has continued its run as the number one golf ball of choice at The Open Championship since records began

As the world’s best players compete to mark their name in history as the 2013 Open Champion, the legendary Titleist Pro V1 franchise continued its own historic run at the world’s oldest Major championship.

The superior performance and precision of Titleist golf balls has seen them be the choice of the field at every Open since records began, and this week at Muirfield is no different.

91 of the 156-player field at Muirfield have chosen to tee it up with a Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, more than four times the nearest competitor with 21.

The impressive count at The Open Championship reinforces the longest running success story in golf, where Titleist golf balls have been the number one choice of the majority of the field at the US Open for the last 65 consecutive years.

The popularity of Titleist golf balls is continually seen across worldwide professional tours, with over 12,845 players choosing to put their trust in the number one ball in golf across worldwide professional tours in 2013, over 6 times more than the nearest competitor with 1,900.

These players have record ed80 wins this year, compared to 28 for the nearest competitor. This has included a number of impressive victories, most notably Adam Scott (Pro V1) at The Masters and Matteo Manassero (Pro V1x) at the BMW PGA Championship.
