Benross 2014 ranges boosted by key tech upgrades

Benross has made some key changes to its product line-up for 2014, which hits the shelves on the week commencing February 17th. While the heads have undergone only minor design tweaks, the big upgrade has been in the stock grips and shafts offered, but at no extra cost.

The British brand has teamed up with shaft manufacturer Aldila to offer three top-quality shafts to match the heads in being tailored for different swing speeds and abilities. All Benross clubs next year will also come with Golf Pride’s MCC grips as standard, another big step forward for the brand. Like last year, Benross has three sets of woods and irons – each designed for three golfers.

The new RIP Speed 2 range is aimed at better players with high swing speeds between 95-105mph. The clubs in this line up are generally low launching and feature more compact head sizes with minimal offset. As standard, the woods now come with an Aldila ATX TOUR BLUE shaft, which boasts a stiff upper section to achieve a stronger flight.

The new HOT Speed 2 line up is aimed at those with a mid-swing speeds looking for some forgiveness as well as distance. The clubs have a mid-launch and come with an Aldila TRINITY shaft.

The MAX Speed 2 range has the largest clubheads for maximum forgiveness, aimed at the higher handicapper with low swing speed. The woods come with an Aldila Magnum NV shaft as standard.

“Benross is all about offering golfers an excellent quality product at a reasonable and fair price,” Benross CEO Jon Everitt told TG. “When we started the brand 16 years ago we took the decision that we didn’t want to follow the traditional method of most golf brands to pay Tour Golfers to play Benross.”

“Paying Tour Players only ends up inflating the prices the end consumer pays for their equipment, which we feel represents a poor deal for the club golfer. So we’ve turned the usual marketing route on its head and we treat the end consumer as our Tour Pro ensuring that every product we produce aids their game, heightens their enjoyment of the game and helps them reach their full potential.”

Complimenting the woods are three sets of irons tailored to the three levels of golfer. For more info on the new range, check out the next issue of Today’s Golfer on sale Feb 20 or visit www.benrossgolf.com
