OneFairway, the unique golf social network, has grown rapidly since its launch in December 2013. In five months of being fully online they have added 140 golf courses and more than 3,000 golfers to their network, creating a fantastic service for the game. The network is totally unique in golf; it has the golf courses at its heart and golfers on the periphery. OnFairway spotted that the central need when networking in golf, is for it to be easy to find out where you can play and how much it will cost to play there. Of course, that’s not all that’s important, and on each OneFairway golf course page you can browse images of the layout and flick through all of the facilities they have available for use.
There are also lots of great features and benefits for golfers. Golfers are able to connect with their golfing friends, look for golfers nearby, publish photos of their latest round and suggest photos to golf courses they have visited. Bringing it all together is a messaging system that allows courses to message golfers and vice versa so that no question goes unanswered.
Until now OneFairway has only been available as a desktop website but that has all changed with the release of their mobile applications in June 2014.
The mobile applications have been designed around OneFairway’s easy-to-use search function that allows golfers to quickly find courses (either through a list or map function), and add that course to your golfer profile by becoming a ‘fan’. Becoming a ‘fan’ of courses that interest you allows you to build a list of courses you want to hear more from, and all their news and updates will feed through to your profile feed – it’s that simple.
OneFairway has released both an Android and an iPhone application. The applications are entirely free to download and there is no cost involved to join OneFairway. There are continuous competitions for its users, and by downloading the apps and joining you are entered to win whatever prize they have on offer at the time.
