adidas Golf, an industry leader in innovation, technology and performance footwear, has announced a limited-edition footwear collection inspired by the 2014 Ryder Cup in Gleneagles, Scotland, continuing adidas’ legacy of providing high-performance footwear for the best athletes in the world on sports’ greatest stages.

By combining design elements with visual cues representative of each team’s distinct colours, adidas Golf has created limited-edition pieces that accurately represent each team as they participate in the world’s greatest match play competition. The full collection includes two unique designs (one representative of each team) for three of adidas Golf’s shoes in 2014: adizero one, pure 360 and adicross gripmore.

adidas Golf Tour staff players in the 2014 Ryder Cup who will receive limited-edition footwear from the collection include Team Europe’s Justin Rose, Martin Kaymer, Stephen Gallacher, Sergio Garcia and team captain Paul McGinley, and Team USA’s Jim Furyk.

Team Europe

• Captain Paul McGinley – pure 360 with blue stripes and white laces, and a blue outsole with yellow accents.

• Justin Rose & Martin Kaymer – adicross gripmore with blue stripes featuring yellow stars, white laces and a yellow gripmore outsole.

• Sergio Garcia & Stephen Gallacher – adizero one featuring yellow stripes and white accent laces. Outsole features a blue plate with yellow accents

“The Ryder Cup is one of the greatest sporting events in the world and we are excited to have a great representation of five staff players playing and one serving as captain,” said Masun Denison, Director of Global Footwear Product Marketing at adidas Golf. “We realised this was a great opportunity for us to take our highest performing footwear models and offer unique and exciting colours that not only represent each team but truly embody what this electrifying event is all about.”

The limited-edition pieces were developed only for adidas Golf tour staff players participating at the 2014 Ryder Cup and will not be available at retail.

Note – The picture shows yellow laces but since it was taken the players have decided to wear white laces during the Ryder Cup.
