adidas reveal new Tour 360 Boost shoe

Published:

It’s 10 years since adidas first introduced the Tour 360 shoe. In 2005 their promise of 360 degree support was pretty much unheard of at the time. Since then the 360’s have gone on to win 38 PGA Tour events and sell more than 2 million pairs. With such a pedgiree of success adidas’s excitment at the next generation Tour 360 Boost’s is understandable.

“Tour 360 broke ground when it hit the market in 2005,” reckons Masun Denison, Director of Footwear at adidas Golf. “Our challenge in creating the next generation was living up to the Tour 360 name. We took everything we’ve learned in the last 10 years to take the Tour 360 Boost to the next level. It’s a culmination of years of technology, testing, insights and athlete feedback.”

So whats new? Well theres a full length Boost sole which returns energy to the feet for lighter less energy zapping walking. A lighter, more flexible 360 Wrap saddle also allows for greater adjustability and adaptability. And thanks to a new “Torsion Tunnel” the 360 Wrap combines with a full-length outsole, to provide independent flexibility and control between the heel and forefoot and enhance arch support and traction.

10 strategically positioned CenTraXion thintech cleats enhance lateral stability. And theres a new “S-Curve” heel shape which follows and adapats to the natural contours of the foot to increase comfort and fit. Topping off a cracking pair of shoes is a new lining which reduces friction, moisture and heat to keep your feet at an optimum temperature, while a premuim leather outer is rich, soft and durable finish.

“I’ve always been a fan of the Tour 360 footwear,” said Dustin Johnson, PGA Tour professional, adidas Golf brand ambassador and world #8. “I have great memories wearing them during key wins throughout my career, and I can’t wait to get them back on my feet and wear the Tour 360 Boost next season.”

Expect to see the Tour 360 Boost arriving in good golf shops from 8th January 2016 with a price of £129.99. A further Tour 360 Boa Boost version will also be available from February 2016, their laceless fastening system and micro adjustability will set you back £159.
