Ping reveal exciting ‘My 3D’ putter printing concept at PGA Show

We caught up with Ping’s Senior Club Designer Marty Jertson at the 2015 PGA Merchandise show in Orlando to talk about the new Glide wedges. But he had something even more exciting to tell us about…

You may have seen 3D printing in the manufacturing of various household objects, tools and even medicine. There’s no question it’s on the rise. In fact, according to a report in the US from last year, the worldwide revenues from 3D printing are expected to grow from $3.07 billion in 2013 to $12.8 billion by 2018, and exceed $21 billion by 2020.

Now, this concept is coming to golf through Ping, who will be offering a premium custom design and fitting programme later this year called ‘My 3D’. Customers will be able to design every area of the putter, from size, alignment aid, finish and much much more. Watch this space for more details on when this exciting idea is coming to the UK.
