Callaway Big Bertha: New Callaway Big Bertha range includes Callaway’s easiest to launch distance irons and the first hybrid to combine jailbreak technology and adjustability

Callaway and Big Bertha are two names that belong together. Big Bertha, like a faithful dog has been there for almost all the Callaway journey. The name which was borrowed from a world war one cannon is still seen as THE oversized, super forgiving driver that made the game more enjoyable and fun.

Bearing in mind Bertha’s legacy it’s not surprising Callaway are using it for their latest super game improvement iron and hybrid in 2019.

Callaway Big Bertha Irons 

Big Bertha has long been associated with innovation and pushing technology boundaries, and Callaway reckon the 2019 model lives up to its name thanks to a brand new ‘suspended energy core’. It, say Callaway, along with a three-piece construction allows them to position the centre of gravity deeper, to create a higher launch and thinner faster cup face. Make no mistake, it, like the original woods and irons are designed to be forgiving, and thanks to slightly weaker lofts (than Callaway’s strongest Rogue X irons) the Big Bertha is aimed firmly at the super game improvement iron market.    

Callaway say the BBs are their “easiest to launch distance iron”. Each has a hollow construction which along with a 360 Cup Face (which has a thin flexible rim to maximise ball speed) gives consistent, long distance, extreme forgiveness and a great impact sound. Topping off the super sleek BBs when they arrive instore in March 2019 is a premium, smoked PVD finish.

Energy Core
The Suspended Energy Core is the engine of the new Big Bertha irons. This revolutionary new construction suspends the MIM’d Tungsten weight using their proprietary urethane microspheres. It’s designed to deliver easy launch; long consistent distance; and incredible sound and feel.

Long, Consistent Distance From Our 360 Face Cup
Callaway’s 360 Face Cup employs a flexible rim around the face that flexes and releases at impact to increase ball speed. And by using the high launch angles generated by the Suspended Energy Core, they have created their thinnest face cup for increased speeds that promote longer distance.

Premium Design 
Big Bertha has a clean Smoked PVD Finish, and is available with new Recoil ESX, Recoil ZT9, and KBS Max 90 shafts.

Callaway Big Bertha Hybrids

The latest Big Bertha Hybrids from Callaway feature a new progresssive shaping as they replace the OS Hybrid model, and are the first of its kind to combine jailbreak technology and adjustability. 

It results in an easy-to-launch super game improvement hybrid which has a Hyper Speed Face Cup, new premium UST Recoil shafts and entirely new OptiFit Hosel System  that’s shorter and lighter to allow Callawy to fully optimize the Center of Gravity.

Because they come in six different loft options they can compliment almost any set makeup. 3H (19°), 4H (21°), 5H (24°), 6H (27°), 7H (30°), 8H (33°).
