Both are 8620 carbon steel and feature all of the technology found in Milled Grind 2.

TaylorMade’s “Raw Face” technology gives sharper, deeper and narrower grooves and a sharper radius.

The MG2’s rougher surface is created by the laser etching between the grooves. Removing plating sees the face rust over time for a more consistent ball flight and a boost in spin and feel, especially when the wedge’s face gets wet.

There’s also the “Thick-Thin” head design, created with a tool that had only been used in the brand’s metalwood and iron design processes before the development of MG2. It enhances feel and optimises centre of gravity location for a precise flight.

Where the MG2 TW wedges differ from the standard model

The 56-degree version of the Taylormade Tiger Woods wedge has 12-degrees of bounce and features a dual sole grind with heavy heel relief.

This clubhead is built for versatility, allowing players to open or close the face easily to control trajectory or react to any lie, just as Tiger does.

The 60-degree wedge has 11-degrees of bounce and additional leading-edge relief.

TaylorMade say it’s designed for firmer conditions, such as those Tiger commonly finds on tour, and allows for more aggression on open-face wedge shots because the leading edge stays closer to the ground.
