Hole 7 – Pampas

PAR 4 – 450 YARDS

Always used to be a 2-iron and a sand wedge, now it’s a driver and a 7-iron.

The green is designed for a wedge because it’s 12 yards deep on the right and 18 deep in the middle. The last place you want to be is the back right bunker. The front right bunkers are not too bad.

The Quiros way: Not sure about hitting a driver as it’s so tight. But if I do hit the big stick I’d only be left with a wedge. I’d favour finishing past the pin and hopefully the ball will spin back. However, because of the new grooves this is less likely to happen now. Targetscore: 4

The Wilson way: Even though it’s a narrow fairway I’ll still be hitting driver because if you miss it and go in the trees you can usually get a wedge through. A 3-wood off the tee leaves you too far back because the green is small, well protected and has some severe slopes. Targetscore: 4
